Pulling together, we can build something amazing for Duluth.
The Duluth Rowing Club’s existing, old boathouse will be torn down and replaced with new facilities designed to serve the community for generations to come—an exciting project for both Duluthians and rowing enthusiasts!
The Center will cost approximately $1 million to construct.
Thanks to the vision of Joseph M. Krmpotich, the Club is already over halfway to that financial goal and construction has begun on the new Duluth Rowing Center. The Joseph M. Krmpotich Boathouse will be completed in summer 2016, and the full Duluth Rowing Center is scheduled for completion in late 2017.
Since 1886, rowing has been part of the fabric of Duluth culture—like the symphony, high school hockey, or ice fishing on frozen lakes. Without rowing, future generations of young Duluthians would be denied a wonderful activity that has greatly enriched my life.”
— Mike Cochran, 50 years with the DRC, rower, and historian
